Platform Migration from Squarespace to WordPress + Social Media Strategy

For this project, my client requested a move from Squarespace to WordPress due to its blog-heavy nature. This included a redesign of the whole site and significant work to the homepage’s “above the fold” to highlight hero content. The site is built with Elementor and some premium blocks.

Behind the scenes, the site also has the framework for future media archives (including video and podcasting) and an e-commerce shop.

I also worked with the Variant Ventures team to come up with a social media strategy to accompany the re-launch of the site. We worked to come up with content pillars, drafted unified templates for social media posts, and came up with a 30 day content calendar.

E-Commerce Launch with Mobile-First Design

When this Etsy seller identified that most of her sales were coming from word of mouth and not through the marketplace, she wanted to create a separate shop to send her customers, saving on Etsy’s fees. She wanted to make sure the process to browse items and purchase was easy. It was also paramount that the site was fast and easy to use on mobile.

I focused on designing this site mobile-first, making sure it was visually appealing, fast, and a good browsing and purchasing experience from small devices. I then went back to fine-tune the desktop and tablet versions of the site.

Traffic Funnel From Web to Substack

The goal of this project was to create a simple one-page landing site for the client’s Substack. This was a unique request as the client did not consider the website the main web home of the newsletter, but they wanted to be sure to own the domain and have the most important information available. They also wanted to be sure that the site’s SEO could capture potential readers in ways that the substack may not be able to.
